September Meeting

First of all - thanks to Vital Beet for hosting - you are awesome!
I am sorry I am running so behind - I was going to post poetry that was read and let you know about upcoming events but have been writing, doing jury duty, kids home for the weekend (the usualay life  every day craziness) - will add the poetry later.

Sherry has written a memoir, The Year My Mother Died. Her book signing was  October 21 from 4:30 to 8:00 at The Gallery on First Street NE (First Street runs alongside the DollarSaver shopper downtown )The food was wonderful and I thought it was a great turn out even with roads closed off in preparation for Pumpkin Festival - it was also great to see John!!

Paris Poets Society meets the last Thurs of the month, Oct 27, 7:00p.m. as usual. We are meeting at That Guys Coffee and we are trying to arrange to have a musician come in as well. She is a singer, songwriter and a personal friend of a local fellow poet, and so we are hoping to have a little poetry and a little song as well.

I hope to see you all there!

If you are looking for inspiration to write here are a couple of links to sites that post prompts.  You never know where a word might take you!

http://www.creativecopychallenge.com/
posts ten words every Monday and Thursday - you write and submit right on their blog so it is a great starting point if you do not have your own place online.  It is a great community!

http://onesingleimpression.blogspot.com/
posts a word or phrase once a week.

http://oneword.com/
posts a new word every day and you can free write on the site.  You are given one minute with their timer but don't stop there - use the prompt any way you like!

Perhaps a get-well collection of poems to take to John as he recuperates?

You can also subscribe to get a poem a day right in your email-box at

What inspires you?  This weeks prompt at Sunday Scribbling was backyard and the prompt from One Sing Impression was limber up...have pencil and scrap of paper?  I know you do...write something wonderful!
